That’s why I founded BME Project Management Services (Blom Middle East): not as a brokerage or one-size-fits-all agency, but as an independent advisory platform.

Meet Alexander Blom

Founder, BME Project Management Services

I’ve lived and worked in Dubai since 2008, long enough to witness this city’s extraordinary evolution from the pre-Burj Khalifa days to today’s globally connected metropolis. What began as a professional relocation has grown into a deeply rooted personal and business life here in the Emirates. Over the years, we’ve also made several personal real estate investments in Dubai, including off-plan properties in Dubai Hills, Canal Front, Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), and Sobha Hartland 2. These experiences, with all the hunger, excitement, and learning curves they brought, have helped shape my understanding of the local market from the inside out. Professionally, I hold a Master’s degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and started my career in insurance at Marsh in the Netherlands. That role eventually brought me to Dubai to lead their specialty practices for the region. Over the years, I worked for Marsh, AIG, Howden, and Viva Insurance in Dubai, building expertise in underwriting risk and navigating complex environments. In 2024, I made a full shift into real estate and business advisory, launching BME Project Management Services (Blom Middle East). Through this platform, I help people and companies access and navigate the UAE market with a focus on real estate, relocation, and strategic partnerships. My approach is personal, pragmatic, and built on trust. I leverage nearly two decades of local experience and a strong network to deliver tailored solutions that save time, reduce complexity, and support long-term value creation. I’m proud to collaborate with Driven Properties, MSV Estates, as well as respected legal and operational partners like Davidson & Co, Fichte & Co Legal, and Aligned Services. When it comes to investing in Dubai real estate, for myself or for clients, I stick to four simple but proven rules: scarcity, quality, competitive pricing, and amenities. These principles have guided my own off-plan investments over the years, and I continue to apply them when advising others. On the Substack platform I share insights, opportunities, and reflections, from investment strategies to the human side of relocating and living in the UAE. No hype, just grounded advice and real stories from someone who has been here, built here, and continues to grow here. When I’m not working, I love home cooking, reading novels or biographies, kundalini yoga, golf, and open water swimming. I’ll also do the occasional ice bath if the mood strikes. One of my favorite Dubai places to catch up with friends or business associates is the Keyani Wellness Centre, a quiet spot with nourishing food and an atmosphere that invites meaningful conversation.
